Fatigue is a faith stealer.

Day 37:
Last night sleep didn’t come until 2am and then was sporadic at best. Fatigue finally took over around 7 am and Tate was able to sleep a bit better for a few hours. This schedule along with narcotic sedation makes logging into school classes difficult at best. I’m so proud of Tates efforts as she types an essay or works a math lesson while waiting on the morphine to offer some relief.

Today wasn’t great. Heightened GI pain, all over body pain, joint pain, no appetite, and just feeling all over “sick” made today a challenge. Pain team continues to try to decrease pain meds which sounds counter intuitive. We are on board though. They aren’t working well at all and the side effects of the opioids are too great. However, Tate has required more morphine in the past day with less response, which makes this process so so hard. I saw more tears today than I’ve seen since admission. The effects of the decrease in methadone we actually won’t see for a few days which carries a lot of apprehension for what is to come. Fatigue is a faith stealer. Feeling tired tonight.
