Day 13

Tate’s surgery for her new line this afternoon was successful. I got a giggle when she told me the scent of her mask for sedation was “rainbow kitten surprise .” I thought she was just loopy, but her anesthesiologist laughed andsaid it was true! Her new line is bleeding through the dressing and tomorrow surgery will come to adjust the wire stitches. They are often so pokey and hard on sensitive skin. Tate is grateful to still havea pca. Her neck is still incredibly sore and surgery positioning was hard on it today. She doesnt say much about the new line site as she has so many other sources of pain. Her legs have been buggers today too.

The biggest pacu treat is a banana slushee. Tate’s eyes were barely open and her nurse had one ready to go. A slushee is always soothing on a raw throat from intubation .

We really are tired and are just hoping for a quiet, restful day tomorrow.
