Tate’s ANC doubled overnight! Such a relief after 3 days of declining numbers. I’ve never been a “worrier,” but am finding myself sitting there a bit more frequently lately. It’s hard to see Tate struggle day after day with all the residual things she came into this with and still believe that transplant is essentially successful as far as engraftment. Time will tell us what areas are left to work through.
The nurse in the hat is Olivia. Her story is incredible as she went through a BMT when she was 17 in this very unit. Nobody understands better what this is like for a teen. Some of the staff here even cared for her. Tate was given a Love Your Melon hat through a donation to the hem/onc kids here. She had to get Olivia one too.
I missed the MAW post until one of Tates nurses told me she saw it. Still so grateful for the kindness and generosity that went into fulfilling that wish for Tate. She can’t wait to get home and get to use it once her broviac central line is out.
