Day 1 of 3 for IVIG today. We haven’t had outpatient ivig in months. It was nice to feel the love from our North hospital family and see Pringle and Lauren and Amanda again too. We doubled up with an infectious disease appointment.

ID thinks the bacterial infection Tate has been battling for months is finally gone. She’ll finish 5 1/2 weeks of IV antibiotics on Friday. She’ll get a follow up CT to make sure we aren’t pushing more clots into her lungs. I still pull clots off daily. The after of treated infections now comes with a little letdown. Gone are the days when treated infections leave Tate feeling so much better.

Tate’s central line is showing some drainage. ID wants a culture of that to make sure Tate isn’t brewing a new tunneled infection. The IV antibiotics she’s currently on wouldn’t cover this type of bacteria, so she could be dealing with another bacterial infection. Based on that, she’ll get another ultrasound.

IViG tomorrow and Friday yet. North has added a dance therapist and a gaming/tech therapist. These are amazingly fun ways to help kids cope…and slightly sneaky. We are so grateful for all the thought that goes into making Tate’s days as good as possible. I saw her finally do a craft today which is directly reflective of how supported she feels at North.
