Day 1 of IVIG…again. The every 21 days comes around quickly! Today was going to be Birthday celebration day with Tate’s sweet North team, but plans were bumped to tomorrow. Tate is still on precautions due to the coronavirus she had two weeks ago. She’s immunocompromised which comes with its own set of protocols for her. She has to test negative once she’s asymptomatic to be off precautions in the hospital/clinic setting. There was a day long conversation with a bunch of her specialists today to decide which protocol she landed in. And unfortunately, she’s still testing positive. She can be tested again in two weeks. So precautions stay.

Tate was pretty sad today. Precautions mean everyone is gowned, masked and gloved to come in and she can’t leave the room. More of a pain for them all. But it does mean Pringle can’t come in and in general, less people do too. Birthdays are already hard for Tate. Infusions on her Birthday were only made okay because of our sweet team. Precautions feel like a pretty heavy, wet blanket to Tate. We’ve been running a little emotionally thin and this broke the ice for Tate today. Hard to explain the emotions. Sometimes you grasp onto anything you can.

Tate did get Birthday nails done with Keira yesterday. She hasn’t had her nails done in over a year and a half due to constantly low counts. But…we went for it. And Tate’s white counts are actually decent today anyway-probably because she’s still fighting off this virus.

We’re continuing to see disconcerting neurological episodes where she is just dopey and doesn’t always speak clearly. She’ll fall asleep mid sentence and I find her in all kinds of strange positions. We don’t have a “why.” She is quite anemic though and I’m hoping iron infusions will help once insurance jumps on board again.
