Tate has had a rough go since Friday. She left her room only if necessary and Sunday night brought another pain crisis and call to hospice. Mondays appointments at main were cancelled as I just couldn’t get her there. Tuesday was OT and a pump refill at main and today’s appointments brought us to north campus CCBD for a desperately needed iron infusion and a viral panel. We have movers and shakers on our team there and are endlessly grateful! Panel is negative meaning Tate has finally cleared the coronavirus but also negative for everything else, which doesn’t give the easiest answer for why she’s feeling so poorly.

We followed that with a hospice nurse visit with lots of planning discussion. Tate already was in bed for the night by 4:30.

Tomorrow we’ll get blood cultures and another round of labs with hopefully something we can fix. We’ll have a meeting with her hospice Dr. and we’re halfway through another week already. These weeks have left our heads spinning. We are tired. Nights have consisted of two hour alarms for pain meds and our days are packed with appointments. We’re grateful for all the hearts and hands but it’s honestly been a lot to manage. We’re working on a better system.

Tate was slotted to speak for a Round Up River Ranch event tomorrow night. It’s one of Tate’s greatest disappointments that she won’t make it due to how she’s feeling. We RRR and all the people that make it a family. Tate has something really special and super fun in the works with them! Stay tuned!
