Another Halloween in the books spent at the hospital getting IVIG. It’s actually such a fun holiday at the the hospital. The nurses decorated Tates door, there’s a costume parade and a big unit costume/skit/dance contest at main that is televised through B Boy. All those things happened. However, upon arriving for day 2, we learned Tate had tested positive for a bacterial GI bug that put her on precautions meaning nobody extra in her room (like Pringle.) Tate is on antibiotics again now. We’re happy to know what precipitated all the chaos two weeks ago and landed her in the hospital last week. But it put a little damper on the day.
Tate is back on oral narcotics again for pain. Hopefully just through the weekend. Sleeping at night has been tough. Tate also lost another oncology friend this past week. Not just a number, but a sweet teen girl who had dreams and friends and family who loved her dearly. It is the painful side of having friends that understand the chronic medical world.
