Day 47
Today was full of shenanigans. Tate had a filming date for her show in Seacrest studios. Tim and Keira made it and nurses Rachel and Emilee came down too. We were all pretty entertained. Tate and her co-host Eric are pretty funny together.
This evening Tate and Rachel did a blind testing of Oreos. So funny ..hopefully a video I can share soon. The silliness wore Tate out but provided so many laughs and a good distraction from pain today. Tonight…Tate is wiped.
Medically, not much changed today. Tates heparin levels came back high despite clotting off two peripheral IV’s and finding another clot in her arm. Her Lovenox was decreased tonight and they’ll re check the levels again tomorrow. We get a new attending tomorrow and got a new resident today. Tuesdays are our least favorite day in the hospital, when everything feels new again for the week. We’ve absolutely loved our hospitalist attendings the last two weeks. That usually sets the stage for great pass offs and communication with the new team. We are expecting all good things. Tomorrow the methadone is increased yet again which almost automatically buys us another 3-5 days. Hospital prom is May 15th. I never dreamed it’d be in jeopardy. We’ll have some quick shopping to do once she finally gets out of here.
