Most of Tate’s day is represented by the photo. We didn’t get to sleep until after 3 this morning. “Clarifications” at 5 and the new day starting at 7 made for a short night. Tate needed the extra sleep today as she felt and looked measurably worse today.
Repeat cultures, an ultrasound and 3 types of IV antibiotics on repeat. Tate still has a blood clot in her jugular. It’s not completely blocking blood flow though and as I understand it, they’ll just let it be and hope her body will break it down and that it doesn’t get larger. She’s already on twice daily blood thinner injections.
Infectious Disease says she definitely has an infection. She was freezing with piles of blankets on, but temp didn’t register above 97.5 The new biologic she’s on is suppressing symptoms and labs. If we don’t see growth on the cultures, ID will treat her anyway. They aren’t too hopeful she’ll be able to keep this line, but want to see how she does in a couple days.
This evening, Tate is awake and looks a tad better. We are hoping the antibiotics are flipping this around.
