Cultures have been negative but Tate continues to feel worse, so I’m not sure what is going on. Blue bag and orange peels are back out. We’re controlling the vomiting but not the nausea and are out of medication options. If we can’t stop the vomiting, it’s an automatic emergency injection and trip to the hospital.
Tate has adrenal insufficiency so her body can’t produce cortisol to help her body through illness or stressful situations. She is “steroid dependent “ meaning she has to take steroids throughout the day and extra (stress dose) anytime she is sick or injured or has anesthesia. But vomiting/diarrhea is tricky. If you can’t keep the steroids in your body, they don’t work and she’ll go into adrenal crisis, which is fatal if not treated quickly with IV steroids. Tate carries an emergency injection for this reason, which is always followed by a hospital trip.
Tate and I were planning on going to see Keira at camp tomorrow through the weekend. Once again, we reschedule. But Keira is coming home for the weekend.
