Day 3:

Last night was pretty sleepless for Tate with a middle of the night migraine and lots of body pain.

Rounds this morning revealed a second positive culture, both with a rare bacteria that they aren’t familiar with. Infectious disease said it’ll take at least a day for them to isolate exactly what it is. It’s a class that is very slow growing, thus the delayed growth on cultures. I do feel like the antibiotics that Tate is on are helping, so hopefully it’ll end up being the right course.

We didn’t get very far today with getting on the books for a brain mri, a repeat echo or ultrasound of her line. We also have two days of ivig to get in. I’m hoping we aren’t at a standstill until Monday, but it’s possible. The ivig isn’t compatible with the antibiotics and they don’t want to give tate anesthesia for the brain MRI until the infection has cleared. And then we continue to work through the infection.

We have no idea on a home timeline yet but will definitely be here into next week.

Today, Denver Fire did their annual character rapelling, parade and toy drive delivery. Tate wasn’t up to going outside, but I did and loved seeing the Denver firefighters bagpipe and drum band playing Christmas carols from the top off a fire truck. I’ll share children’s post aboutit with photos.

Thanks for the continued prayers.
