Day 5:

We’re still waiting on that quieter day. Today felt like tough news on repeat. Initially, the last couple days I felt gratitude for answers to know what was making Tate more sick. But today tipped the scales to too much. And we’re tired.

The rundown is…we know Tates lungs are inflamed and have nodules. More tests coming back keep confirming that. We don’t yet know what they are. The inflammation is causing a lower blood oxygen level needing supplemental O2 at times .

Tates blood has a bacterial infection. She needs her central line removed and is currently on iv antibiotics for this infection .

Tate has a larger mass in her neck/back. It’s over 3 in x 1.5 x 1.5. It was found on mri yesterday. Ultrasound tonight shows its solid and recommendation is to biopsy. We aren’t sure if the lung nodules are related or not.

An echo today shows Tate likely has endocarditis; a Bacterial infection growing in her right atrium. They call this vegetation. She needs a transesophageal echo under sedation where they go down her throat into her esophagus with a transducer to get a better view of her heart.

So tomorrow or Friday, all 3 procedures will happen under anesthesia again.

Today was neverending. Tonight we’re praying for less pain and actual sleep .
