Day 4:
No crisis today, but a fever tonight with high Blood Pressure that has stuck around since yesterday. Despite the fever, today was still a win.
We saw lots of faces today. Infectious Disease: Still waiting on bacteria sensitivity. We were feeling optimistic until the fever tonight. If she stays on this antibiotic, it’ll be run on the 4 hours on, 4 hours off until the 20th. If it’s wrong, we’ll start again.
Palliative visited in their very patient, gentle, listening way. These meetings typically involve tears because they are a safe place to share all the things. There is a care conference in the works with the current key providers. Palliative has been one of the most unexpected gifts during our inpatient stays.
Tomorrow we sadly get a new attending for the purple team, but we met our senior resident today and he is excellent. Truly thankful for him!
We were woken up today with sunshiny nurses Rachel and Silvia. They brought instant smiles and Birthday hugs. A great start to the day!
Grama Sandy and Aunt Becca came today with snacks and Birthday cake to share with Tim, Tate and I. We felt the love It’s a triple Birthday today for me, Keira and Grandpa Mike. We didn’t get to squeeze Keira today but tomorrow is a do-over Birthday for us girls to be together and Drew too.
