1:30 AM and the night continues. CT shows buried bumper syndrome. The bubble meant to hold the GJ in has migrated up into the stomach wall. Super rare and very painful. Surgery was up tonight to talk through next steps and is waiting on IR to see if they can get her scheduled for tomorrow. If not, she waits until Monday. Surgery was able to take the rest of the fluid out of the bubble which has made moving not quite as excruciating. Grateful for that.
Iv antibiotics were started tonight. Tate developed hives and needed Benadryl. That line was just placed in the ER and was already ornery with the contrast for the CT scan and then infiltrated with Iv Benadryl. Again, super painful. So now we’re waiting on vas team to come up and place another peripheral IV with ultrasound.
This poor girl has had more pain tears in 24 hours than I see in a year. It’s been a day. We need another line yet tonight to get the rest of her meds in her. And then we’re hoping for a bit of sleep.
