Moving Forward

Day 51

Today was a bit rougher of a day until these two showed up. Andi was Tates 2nd infusion nurse ever, back when Tate was 9. Always a ton of fun, she even tap danced with Tate during infusions. Carissa became a fast friend a couple years ago as Tates North campus infusion nurse. The bonus of North is you can have the same nurse every time! We saw Carissa weekly when Tate was home on hospice. Nurses like these two change everything! So blessed to have these two and many current nurses in BMT that we’re getting to know better each day!

Tate received a care package today from the St. Mark school kids in Eau Claire, WI. They made butterflies and a paper link prayer chain. Such a creative and special idea! Thank you!!

Tates counts dropped considerably over the last couple days. Could be contributing to her feeling so crummy. It also makes me thankful that we’re so close to getting this transplant moving. I’ve called this a slow motion emergency for months now. As we see evidence of bone marrow changes in her peripheral labs, I feel this even more. Part of me wants to stop and the other to hurry up and move forward. That’s probably the perfect definition of anticipatory fear. ❤️‍🩹 Truly just grateful to have a way to keep moving forward.
