Days 11 & 12

Tate has gotten her primary nurses again the last few shifts and it changes everything! You know who you are and we love you! We see the most joy and smiles from Tate when you all are around.

Yesterday and today there hasn’t been any major medical changes. We’re hanging out to see if the new pain med works, getting dilaudid every two hours around the clock and waiting for the antibiotics to help kick out the infection.

Our door revolved a little extra today. But we did get to see PT Brandee and give her a little Tinsel Tate therapy. We did have a care conference today as well. They are always challenging emotionally but we did come up with a plan.

Tate’s rheumatologist has one last infusion/injection medication that she’s holding out hope for. It won’t fix everything, but could tip the scale to help Tate feel a little better. It’s 7 days of infusions, then a daily injection. The infusions would be inpatient, the injections can continue at home. We are really praying this works for Tate.

So, we still have a bit to get through before we’re going home. We’ll find out more tomorrow if the 3 days of IVIG can run the same as the infusions. Getting off the IV dilaudid will be a bit of a challenge with the increased IVIG pain.
