This is Tate’s Uncle Tom (Tim’s older brother) and Aunt Jen.
In 2021, when Tate was getting ready to head into bone marrow transplant, some of you may recall that Tommy was diagnosed with melanoma. He’s undergone so much already…multiple surgeries, several rounds of immunotherapy, some chemo treatments, a car T cell treatment and is on his 3rd trial. His cancer is stage 4 meaning it’s metastatic and taking up residence in so many places it doesn’t belong. It’s continuing to spread and grow and he needs all of you!
Tommy is a pastor in Mobile Alabama, but has been traveling to MD Anderson in Houston TX for his trials. He’s just waiting to start a new one as the Car T type he trialed in December failed. With new trials comes new protocols and varying resources. This next one will require lots of flights to and from Houston, initially on a weekly basis and then twice monthly. These are all out of pocket and will add up quickly. Even with insurance, living in the medical world is costly in so many ways.
I feel honored (after many asks) to finally be able to share where Tommy is medically, knowing we have so many here that would want to lend support through endless prayers. In addition, if you feel led, Tom and Jen I know would be so grateful for any support to help them with some of their travel costs. Jen is an elementary school teacher and also has to take off work to travel with Tom. You can imagine how quickly her PTO was used up!
