Day 14
It’s April 1st. There were a few shenanigans in the hospital today. Tate got her nurses good when she took a sip of apple juice from a urine specimen cup. It was pretty funny as Tate’s timing was spot on.
Drew came down and played some video games and Nintendo with Tate. He provides the best distraction for Tate.
Outside of the fun stuff, lots shifted today medically. Last night we thought, with some pushing, it might be possible to get home Saturday in time for Easter. This morning, I met with palliative and learned that even if I thought I could manage for a time, Tate’s pain regimen isn’t one that anyone would approve to go home on. There’s been lots of back and forth and we have a pain med plan that will take a little time to switch to. Tonight we got the green light on the new infusion. I think it’s still 7 days of that, but haven’t heard the final final. But it looks like we’ll be here for sure into next week.
Today brought day 2 of ivig and the dreaded increased pain especially tonight. Tomorrow is day 3 and whatever else we get rolling.
Tonight was prom closet for hospital prom in May. The hospital provides free, new prom dresses to those who are invited. It’s a favorite night. Tate wasn’t able to attend though tonight due to her infection. She was disappointed, but we’re just going to have to plan a shopping day once we’re out of here. It did mean we got in a sweet visit with some friends who were coming to dress shop.
The fund raiser for T&J is absolutely jaw dropping. There’s still time to get in on it before I reveal the grand total this weekend. Thank you for loving them so well!
