Last week Tate lost another sweet friend after a long battle with cancer. Tate met Lexi at her first CCBD (center for cancer and blood disorders) teen outing back in 2022. Both girls were sporting pixies and Tate was terrified to go without me. She was sporting her TPN backpack and walking was still difficult. Lexi immediately introduced herself to Tate, the girls chatted about all their shared challenges and Lexi made her feel comfortable welcoming her into the club that nobody really wanted to be part of, but was instantly such a blessing to not feel so alone. Tatum had a blast that night and a fast friendship bloomed. Lexi is the second friend this year to pass from that little group of girls. Tate attended hospital prom with Lexi the last 3 years. To have friends who build you up through hair loss and body changes due to meds and steroids through your teen years is invaluable. Through all her relapses, Lexi always dug deep for a smile and carried herself in such a gentle way.
Our hearts are broken for her mom, Tiffany and brother Owen and all who loved Lexi. She most certainly had the most beautiful Easter with Jesus arms around her, free from all the pain cancer brought her. Keep Tiffany and her family in your prayers as they learn to step forward each day without Lexi with a few extra today as they celebrate her life. Sending you all our love Tiffany. We wish we could be there today to hug you.
