Tate and I saw the sun rise on our way to Children’s ER this morning after Tate woke me with a fever. I knew yesterday that it was coming….not the fever, as it’s an anomaly for Tate. She just doesn’t fever. Hopiing it doesn’t indicate a super high bacterial load in her blood. But she had chills and just seemed off.
Blood cultures are brewing, iv antibiotics are flowing and fever has come down but is still hanging out at 101 with Tylenol. The hospital is full, so we may be in the ER cave for a good portion of the day.
We had a full day of appointments here today, one of which that was 1 1/2 hrs and is now pushed to April with a new provider. Some of these docs are so overloaded.
I really thought we just might avoid a Christmas time admission this year. Super bummed to be inpatient, but always grateful for all the blessings in the people and facilities we do have here. Praying for a flu positive test so we can make this a short admission. We should know by tomorrow late morning if blood cultures are going to be positive and require a longer stay.
