Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there and especially to the two I get to claim. To my mom Carol, and Tim’s mom, Sandy…we thank God for the blessings that are you and for the love that you show our crew.
Another Mother’s Day in the hospital which offers all kinds of perspective and moments for gratitude. The hospital delivered a breakfast to all the moms this morning and Tate and I caught church online. I got a phone call from my TJ and will see Tim, Drew and Keira later too.
Today my heart goes to the mamas that walk out of here without their babies both big and small. Because to be able to just have your child by your side is an incredible gift that is too often taken for granted. So much of our family is chosen and includes our medical family. Our nurses are included in that, and they know who they are. Mother’s Day to me is more about feeling grateful to be given the chance to step into that role whether biological or chosen. To love someone else through the hard stuff is something we should never walk away from.
