Day 55

I really try to always focus on the positive here. We love Children’s Colorado and we love so so so many beautiful people here. It never seems fair to focus on one negative situation, interaction or individual when there’s so much good. And I would never want to tarnish a whole organization’s name due to one.

Today that one was SO loud that I’m struggling to just let it go. My heart needs prayers tonight to just be made whole again. Our care conference was difficult due to one. And even though the rest of the room saw right through it and validated us after, it hurt. A lot. But we will be okay and most importantly, things are in motion to get Tate home.

We now have a pain plan and what is actually the current hiccup is getting Tate’s biologic at home in IV form.

Insurance denied the $9,000/month medication and a bridge program picked it up for Tate temporarily. But they don’t offer an IV version through their program. She can’t absorb the sub Q version. We have another wonderful attending on this week that is already working on it. I have faith they’ll figure something out hopefully quickly.

With plans to go home very soon, we gave some see you later hugs today. Nurse Rachel and CA Olivia who is heading to nursing school. (Olivia, how did we miss a photo!?) And nurse Makenzie, who will be beck tomorrow night, but just because we love her. We will keep thanking God for the good.
