Fatigue hasn’t been much of a team player this last week. Sleep won most of the time but is a good reprieve from pain, headaches, and overall just feeling lousy. Tate’s ankles, knees and legs have been especially more swollen which also increases pain. In between naps were plenty of appointments and the week was finished out with two long IVIG days. It was so great to see our North crew in person again.
It’s Nurses Week! Tate brought some goodie bags to North and we’ll be at Main a couple days this coming week. We’re looking forward to sharing some love with our 8th floor nurses too. We miss them! This journey would be intolerable without our nurses. Grateful everyday for them!
We had special visitors with our friends, Crystal and Brooke (missed you Kayla!) The girls lived across the street but moved 4 years ago while Tate was in a 2 month admission. We miss them and loved spending an afternoon and evening catching up.
This time last year, Tate was in the middle of one of our favorite memories….speaking at her first Round Up River Ranch gala. A huge highlight!
Tate has aged out of camp (perk of 18! ) and isn’t well enough yet to attend their new leadership program this summer for 18-21 yr olds graduated medical campers.
But….we DO have a camp representative. Keira is leaving in a week to spend the summer and work at Round Up as a cabin counselor. She is elated to help create the same life changing experience Tate had with other kids and we can’t wait for her to realize the impact those kiddos will have on her too.
