Day 4
This cotton candy sunrise was super welcome after a really really long, sleepless night.
Tate spiked a fever after midnight, was satting in the mid 80’s so we added oxygen. Shes still running a high fever which is super unusual for her. She did run a fever when this bacteria first presented to us in early December which further enhances the suspicion that this is still that bacteria wreaking havoc. This morning ID has decided to run a couple broad spectrum antibiotics throughhet central line before they take her into anesthesia. They were wanting to wait but a worsening clinical picture trumps the ideal.
Pain was absolutely miserable last night. The goal is still to get to procedures today to figure out why she is getting sicker. If she can hold her sats up without oxygen I think we’ll get the green light.
